How to be healthy?

  • May 31, 2008
  • Post a comment

If you really want your body to last, it isn't too much to ask that you look after it, is it? The best way to do this is follow certain natural health policies which can help replace all those nutrients that are being used up but not replaced. Natural health is also about being pro-active in your life and not waiting for bad things to happen but living a life that prevents illness in the first place.

This is more than just a gimmick but something that should be considered a way of life and a way of living that is healthy and promotes this without for one minute believing there is something strange in wishing to be healthy. Wanting to look after your body does not mean you should be institutionalized even though it does seem to be an alien concept these days. To consider this fully it requires knowledge of the person's environment and how they interact with it like their career, workplace and living circumstances.

The best place to learn more about natural methods of staying healthy it is best to carry out some research whether on the internet where you will find many websites or to invest in a book. Once again this is something you are going to do for your benefit so it requires a certain dedication that can only come from within but should not be considered as something that can be given up because it needs a little discipline. You can guarantee that although it may take a little while, once you have stopped eating a diet based exclusively on junk that you will slowly begin to feel much better.

For those of you that this scenario relates to then either start eating better or start looking into what supplements you need to start taking to make up the deficiency your current diet is causing. One such supplement if HGH (human growth horomone). There are many options available but you must first realize just what harm you are doing to yourself. That is why you will need to do research that will help you in your aim of living the natural health way.

Of course this is much a philosophy as it is a way of living. Until you have made the decision to do this it is difficult to prove to you just how much healthier and more energetic you will feel. Whether you decide to do anything about your health us up to you but don't expect your health to improve if you don't nor expect anyone else to make the decision for you.

Antioxidants in Fruits

The term antioxidant refers to a group of compounds found in everyday substances like plants which have health giving benefits to help fight disease. Phytonutrients are an amazing discovery; fund in plants they have the ability to work with our body to improve its defense against disease and illness. More than 900 different phytonutrients have been found in plant foods already; huge advances in preventative health care and nutrition are advancing at an almost daily rate. Many new compounds have been found that have very specific effects on conditions many of us suffer; pomegranates for example, contain many different properties whilst blueberries have compounds which affect the aging process.

Unrecognized for many years, the properties contained in the blueberry are only just now being appreciated with many antioxidant compounds contained in a fruit with very low sugar content. Often the easiest way for people to take fruit is in juice form which are readily available all year round; this will help improve our healing ability and blood circulation. Although they help to prevent disease, the powerful antioxidants contained in these fruits can also help fight disease and infections as well. You will also find high levels of these substances in apples which can help to reduce the chance of heart disease.

The likes of many citrus fruits also have health benefits associated with the phytochemicals they contain. The particular combination of properties found in tart cherries offers an anti-inflammatory benefit, which is appreciated by those suffering from joint pain caused by arthritis, gout, fibromyalgia or over-exertion. Other substances, vitamins and minerals for instance, are also being studied more carefully even though their benefits are well documented. Another antioxidant is resveratrol has many infection and viral prevention properties and is found in the likes of blackberries, mulberries but more highly in blueberries.

The benefits of these extend too many of the conditions which are found to be more prevalent as we age like heart disease, Alzheimer's, blood pressure and stroke. The humble tomato has also been under scrutiny with benefits it has guarding against certain cancers and heart problems. Using tomato puree (which is the concentrated form of tomatoes) as the base for your chili utilizes the antioxidants without the bulk of a whole tomato. The sweet, juicy watermelon is actually packed with some of the most important in phytonutrients in nature. Now that this information has been made available, are you going to wait to have a serious condition before you start consuming more fruit?

Weight loss for teenagers

  • May 1, 2008

Teenagers who have weight problems can no longer be excused by saying they have puppy fat as all too many end up with serious health problems; this is something that needs to be dealt with if they are to avoid health problems in the future. There has never been a time when young people were more self conscious and obsessed with their own self image; a true recipe for future problems when weight is an issue. Also, this is an useful link on teenage obesity. Whilst many people see education as the way forward, some individuals have set up training camps purely for teen weight loss purposes.

If left unchecked, weight problems will mean they will have physical and emotional problems in their adult lives as well. Just some of the health problems they might experience are:

*Heart disease
*Circulatory conditions
*Late onset diabetes
*Hormone level irregularities

In most instances a teen weight loss program can help to prevent these conditions occurring. On the subject of mental anguish, we can all remember the names that overweight children got called at school which can cause problems later in life.

The names often stick and even if the person loses weight as they grow older and can have serious affects on their self confidence even though the names may no longer be justified. As a concerned parent of an overweight child it can be very difficult to know the best way to help your son or daughter; although it might not help, rest assured you are not on your own as overweight teenagers and adults are a product of the times in which we live. Unfortunately, the numbers of teens who desperately need to lose weight is increasing and has become a global problem despite the number of companies that are promoting products to help lose weight; even though many of them make false claims.

The most important aspect of teen weight loss is to keep them focused on losing fat from their body, not just weight as this will help them maintain their weight as they grow older. Although many parents may show worry about the situation, they should be aware that this weight gain did not happen in the course of a few days so it will take time to lose it safely. If possible consult a medical practitioner, but at the same time do some reading on the subject of teen weight loss as there is a wealth of material of material available; A parent should contact their doctor in addition to researching the subject for information specifically relating to teen weight loss programs that are proven methods; ]

However, it is important to bear in mind that there is some danger with teen weight loss programs that rely on a strict adherence to rapid fat loss. Diets that rely on a dramatic reduction in food intake are also harmful as the body requires energy to survive and these weight loss programs can often cause problems with muscle development. The best way to proceed is by education, both for the parents and the teen so that losing fat is the prime concern as losing excess weight will follow.
